Craft: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 things...

Remember my 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 post? Well, I just found out today that I've been featured over at Craftzine's because of it (you can see, here)! They were excited to see these 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 posts from Wild Olive and her readers that they decided to make it a series. How awesome! :) So if you have a blog, make your own 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 post! Also, don't forget to send Craftzine a link so they can see your 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 post and also, add the special button (see above) to your blog! You can find this button, here.
Have a great weekend! :)

My Favorite Post this July

Wild Olive showed her favorite post this month and I though I should do the same...

This July my favorite post is, Simply a Gnome! . I loved crocheting this little gnome and he turned out to be such a cutie! I love seeing him on my "Finished Craft Shelf" (which I may need to take a picture of to show you sometime...) while I work on something. It's so simple to say, I simply love my Simply a Gnome! :) hee hee
I think I may make this a monthly post-- showing you my favorite post from each month. Sounds like a good idea to me, don't you agree? :)

My "I Heart Tea" Embroidery Piece

I'm still doing projects from Wild Olive's tea party. hee hee :) The projects may still be a few months old, but they're still cute and fun to make! :) Anyways, this here is an "I Heart Tea" embroidery piece designed by Michelle at Scissor Quirk. It turned out cute, don't ya think? :)

I was so excited to embroider it in such a small embroidery hoop (4" to be exact...). It's such a wee little pattern, I just had to embroider it! You can get this pattern, here.

Look at those yummy cookies...mmm, I want to eat one! :)

Dala Horse Craftalong

If you have noticed, I have this button (above) in the upper right corner. Wondering what it's about? Well, today I thought I would share what it's for and how you can participate. Sound fun? :) Okay, lets get started! :)
So I think you already know that this is called, Dala Horse Craftalong. Carina (from Carina's Craftblog) and a few of her friends decided to start this Dala Horse Craftalong for one month, and during this month, post fun crafts that have to do with dala horses. Once you've done a dala horse craft, you can upload a picture of it to their flickr group so we all can see your finished craft! :)
But you don't have to do just the dala horse projects that they post, you can do any dala horse related craft and still upload it to the flickr group. So, I gathered some dala horse projects and have them below for you to do if you would like to...

(source)

From The Split Stitch, we have this really cute dala horse cross stitch chart. You can get this pattern, here. Also, I think Sara (from The Split Stitch) would appreciate if you uploaded your finished piece from her free cross stitch chart to her flickr pool. Just sayin'...

From Kat Crafts, we have this darling dala horse embroidery pattern. You can get this, here.

(source)

And from Carina's Craftblog, she posted this adorable dala horse aplique pattern. You can get this, here.

Well, that's what I could find! :) For more details about the Dala Horse Craftalong, you can go to the original post.

Happy (dala horse) stitching! :)

Pentagon Fabric Ball

This was fun to sew-- a pentagon fabric ball using this tutorial from, and other silly things in the studio. It felt like a puzzle, sewing one side here and one side there until it was a ball. A lot of fun! :) Boys love them espechially, so they are great birthday gifts for younger boys.
Happy Sewing! :)

Wild Olive started a hashtag project today, which I'm not really sure how to explain so click here for details about this project and then come back for the rest of this post...

Cute Bows

I sewed some bows this morning using this tutorial from Pink Lemonade. Aren't they cute?
I'm still wondering what to do with them... I'm mainly thinking of attaching them to hair clips or a head band so I could wear them in my hair... Any ideas?

Classic Chocolate Whoopie (pie :)

I spent all morning working on these chocolate whoopie pies. They may look delicous (no doubt about that!) but they take a few hours to make, not to mention, the clean up party afterwards (whoopie...). Either way, they are amazing, mouth-watering, and pure chocolatey-goodness! YUM! :) I made them for my Bible Study tonight; I made them once before for my Bible Study group and they requested I make them again. :) This recipe is from the book, Whoopie Pies.
Are whoopie pies a cake or a cookie? Comment below with what you think! :)

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies (Recipe)

I baked peanut butter cup cookies. I'm not a big fan of Reese's peanut butter cups, but I thought I would try out this peanut butter cup cookies recipe. Turns out they were really good and I couldn't resist sharing the recipe with you! :)
Peanut Butter Cup Cookies
Oven Tempature: 350
Time: 8 to 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cube margarine (I used butter instead)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 package mini peanut butter cups
Beat margarine (butter), sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter until creamy. Add egg and vanilla and blend well. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix well. Make 1 1/4" balls and place in 1 1/2" mini muffin tins (I didn't have mini muffin tins so I greased the mini muffin pan instead). Bake until lightly brown. Remove from oven and place a mini peanut butter cup (unwrapped) in the middle of each cookie. Allow to cool and then remove from tins.
Doesn't that look yummy? :)

  2. Fabric

  4. Yarn
Five Inspirations
  1. Crafty People (especially my Grandma!)
  2. Crafty Blogs
  3. The Outside World!
  4. Adventures
  5. God! :)

Panda Bag

This is a purse I sewed using the pattern from the book, Arazni Cute Stuff, by Arazni Arozno. This purse is my new crochet bag. Whenever I have a crochet project I put in this bag so if I want to take the crochet project somewhere I just take the this bag with the materials and stuff inside and am ready to go. :) This bag also has it's little companion inside, the zipper pouch, I sewed as well to hold all of my crochet hooks.

Here's a closer look of the pocket on the front...
Well, I'm leaving from blogging again. Not as long this time though! I'll be back on Friday to continue this crafty adventure! :)

My Art Journal * A Bit About Me...

I just started my first art journal! :) I put together the front cover with scrapbook paper and a paper bag. I kind of kept the cover somewhat simple, but maybe as I go along putting page after page together, I'll add some more to it. :)
Here's a full veiw of the cover.
Here's the first page! It's titled, A Bit About Me... .
Take a closer look. Maybe you'll learn something new about me that you didn't know. :) hee hee

The Babyshower Card and Lion

This is the card I made for the babyshower. Do you like it? The waves are made out of newspaper, scrapbook paper, and the inside of a bill envelope. I think that's probably my favorite part of this card. The verse is:
James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift comes from above...
I think it perfectly fits this occasion.
Well, you may think this card is cute but it made a huge mess. A mess of me deciding on what to use, triming and cutting, glueing and tying, the list can go on! :)
Oh yes, I finished the lion! :) Isn't he a cutie?
Oh, and you can't resist that little tail can you? :)

Almost Done!

I've been working on an amigurumi lion today. He's a gift for a babyshower tomorrow that this little lion is going to. He'll be accompanied by two baby boy outfits. I think it'll look very cute.
All that is left to add to the lion is his legs and tail. So far so good. :)

Zipper Pouch

First off, I want to say this: HI!!!! I'M BACK! :) Did you miss me? :) hee hee
Anyways, during the time I was gone I learned how to sew a zipper. I'm pretty proud of myself on how it turned out. I did a little quilting on the outside (which will be something good to bring out when I want to make my first quilt eventually) and I put batting in between two fabrics so it's cushy. :)
This zipper pouch is my new snazzy place where I keep my crochet hooks and stuff for my yarn-filled projects. :)
