mustaches rule!

One of the best things ever - mustaches. Oh yeah. And guess what? I made one!! Yay! They're so much fun to play around with and they are the best "disguise gear" you can get. I think my mom barely reconizes me. I know, they work that well. :) haha Use this great tutorial by Andee at Bearing Fruit to make you're own! :)

From tomorrow to next Friday, I won't be here sadly. I'll be camping in Yosemite, so when I come back on Friday (maybe I'll be able to get a post out that day...we'll see) expect some coolio pictures. :) The next God-Lover post will be moved to Saturday. flower power & joyce meyer!!

I am so proud of these flowers. It's been a goal of mine for awhile now to make some sort of crafty flower. And guess what? I. DID. IT.

Yes!!!!

Bonus point, they're a no-sew project. Definitely my kind of project. All you need is some felt, a pair of scissors, and glue. "It's that easy!"

In the meantime, guess what I did today? What? I went to the Joyce Meyer Conference Friday morning session in Long Beach! It. Was. AWESOME. :) I went with my mom and two friends. More awesomeness! :)

For worship, they had one of my favorite singers (yeah, when I found out who it was, I flipped), PHIL WICKHAM!! eeee!!! :) I love you Phil! :) *he's got music on youtube and itunes, be sure to check him out*

Oh, and there's Joyce. The speaker of these incredible conferences. :) Yeah, that's her on front of a magazine catalogue. It was close enough we got to meeting her. :) I love you Joyce! :)

"oh-mazing" hot chocolate spoons

I made Hot Chocolate Spoons using this OH-MAZING tutorial by Mandy over at Miss Indie! When I read it the morning she posted it, I basically flipped out of my chair because there's this one thing I love (and couldn't live without, it's true)...

CHOCOLATE.

*I think I just heard angels singing.*

I mean, chocolate spoons! It can't get better than that, can it? First came that chocolate nut (what's it called? the cocoa tree or something like that?), then the hershey bar, and now chocolate spoons. Exactly. "Oh-mazing" is the word.

Sadly, I didn't have the awesome coloful spoons Mandy used, so I had to go with these plain, clear spoons. Sad, sad, day I tell you. Plain sad. Pure sadness. :(

But,

it still tasted, "OH-MAZING."

bits of craftiness

Here's a peek into my bits of craftiness... Above is my fall leaves garland in the making. It's an awesome project that I got from this tutorial over at, A Beautiful Mess. It's the type of project you want to get your hands busy on while watching a movie (I'm thinking about finishing this one up while watching Bruce Almighty. haha).

In the meantime, I've been working on redecorating my craft space. I've been using a lot of jars, cans, and ribbon. What I used to keep my scissors in - a jar, some ribbon, and yarn.

And then I used a can and some more ribbon to store all of my crochet hooks in. Really easy, really simple, yet really cute - that's my kind of project. :)

To add some more cuteness to my craft space, I've crocheted a hexagon as a little coaster for a jar full of sequins and such. I got this pattern, here. :)

blog planner cover

I have a "thing" for paper bags. I love them. Probably because they are just so easy to have (you know, the fact that you don't have to go to an actual craft store to buy them is awesome) and they always give whatever craft you use them for, an "old-ish" look. So you probably know what I used for this blog planner cover.

That's right.

I also have been loving paper doiles. I think they are so cute and are so much fun to use in crafts. They also give a cool vintage look too. :)

And then I have a "thing" for bright colors. I like to mix up the old look and the bright colors to make something unique yet really cute.

Yes, I made an apple cozy - finally! It was just one of those things on my bucket list that I wanted to make. so today, I decided to check that off and make one. :) Like it? I love it!

This is what I call doily doodling! I love this project that Mollie at Wild Olive designed, which you can find over here. I think this is such an awesome idea! I mean, embroidery+ dolies= awesomeness! And I say that because I've working on this cute, simple project in and out of my load of school.

Do a few math problems means do a few stitches... learn about Albert Einstein in science and take a break and do some more stitching. :) haha

Oh, and I hope you don't mind my notebooks in the backround. I've been a little lazy on clearing out the stacks of school books surrounding me on my desk.

Well... :) I better go finish up history and do this project later. :)

My "I Heart Tea" Embroidery Piece

I'm still doing projects from Wild Olive's tea party. hee hee :) The projects may still be a few months old, but they're still cute and fun to make! :) Anyways, this here is an "I Heart Tea" embroidery piece designed by Michelle at Scissor Quirk. It turned out cute, don't ya think? :)

I was so excited to embroider it in such a small embroidery hoop (4" to be exact...). It's such a wee little pattern, I just had to embroider it! You can get this pattern, here.

Pentagon Fabric Ball

This was fun to sew-- a pentagon fabric ball using this tutorial from, and other silly things in the studio. It felt like a puzzle, sewing one side here and one side there until it was a ball. A lot of fun! :) Boys love them espechially, so they are great birthday gifts for younger boys.

I sewed some bows this morning using this tutorial from Pink Lemonade. Aren't they cute?

I'm still wondering what to do with them... I'm mainly thinking of attaching them to hair clips or a head band so I could wear them in my hair... Any ideas?

Simply a Gnome!

I crocheted a gnome yesterday afternoon using this free pattern, Simply a Gnome!, by the Bellas Artes blog (which you can get here). I really love how it turned out! :)

Jellyfish

Here's another pattern I did by Ana Paula. A JELLYFISH. Isn't it so cute!? :) I love it! :) She gave out this free jellyfish crochet pattern around Christmas time so people could make them and hang them up in their Christmas tree (awesome idea by Ana!). But, I found this pattern in late June so I have it pinned up on my bulletin board for now. :) When it comes around to Christmas time though, expect more of these cute little jellyfishes. :) So, if you want to make one of your own of these little fellas, click here.

My DIY Little Notebook

This morning I wanted to make something quick and easy but would be fun and cute. Ever have those days? hee hee :) So I was "surfing" through my favorite blog's free projects sections searching for something to do and I came across this little project. A DIY Little Notebook project designed by Sew Tara.
This project was so easy and convient to make. Basically all you need is scraps of paper (I used scrapbook paper, newspaper, actual notebook paper, and a bill envelope. Talk about a random quality of a notebook! :), card board, yarn, and a hole puncher. And in the end, it comes to this cute little notebook to write down your to do lists, grocery lists, etc.

My Bear & Bunny Dolls

These are my Bear and Bunny dolls! :) They are cute little squeezables that I was embroidering yesterday afternoon and this morning. My Felt Leaf Pillow

This is my Felt Leaf Pillow from the project designed by Aimee Ray. I really like how the leaves turned out, as of the flower I'm not as happy with; but, I think it still looks really cute. :) I was orginally hand sewing this project, but eventually lost patience by the third leaf (not much of a progress I must say). So I dropped this project for a few weeks until I finally realized that I could finish it using my sewing machine. Yes! :) So I brought this project back out yesterday and finished it. Woo hoo! :)

Doodle Stitch Along- My Piece

Aimee Ray just started another Doodle Stitch Along! Woo hoo! :) Every Friday, including last Friday and these three coming Fridays, one motif from her book, Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection will be posted on Lark Crafts and her blog, little dear tracks. As you see above, this was my embroidery piece from last week's motif. You can get the motif to stitch your own here.

I had a lot of fun stitching this up, as well it was a great practice on my satin stitch for the blue circles. I'm really excited to stitch the rest of the motifs in these coming weeks because in the end Aimee Ray will post how to make a craft apron using all the motifs. Awesome!! :) Happy stitching! :)

Sewing Machine Mat

I sewed a Sewing Machine Mat. I know, who would of thought? :) hee hee But I made one anyways and I really like it. It came out smaller than it was supposed to, so I was really bummed about that because there was supposed to be a velcro pincushion connected to it (you can never have enough pincushions, am I right? hee hee :). However, it's still a cute mat and a nice border to my sewing machine. Now when I want to move it out of the way to work on another project on my desk, I can just slide it to the side instead of trying to scoot it over as it rumbles loudly. :)
