bits of craftiness

Here's a peek into my bits of craftiness... Above is my fall leaves garland in the making. It's an awesome project that I got from this tutorial over at, A Beautiful Mess. It's the type of project you want to get your hands busy on while watching a movie (I'm thinking about finishing this one up while watching Bruce Almighty. haha).

In the meantime, I've been working on redecorating my craft space. I've been using a lot of jars, cans, and ribbon. What I used to keep my scissors in - a jar, some ribbon, and yarn.

And then I used a can and some more ribbon to store all of my crochet hooks in. Really easy, really simple, yet really cute - that's my kind of project. :)

To add some more cuteness to my craft space, I've crocheted a hexagon as a little coaster for a jar full of sequins and such. I got this pattern, here. :)

apple cozy

Yes, I made an apple cozy - finally! It was just one of those things on my bucket list that I wanted to make. so today, I decided to check that off and make one. :) Like it? I love it!

My Trip & Ami Kitty

So, you guys all (or most of you) know that I was on trip this past week and a half traveling all over north of California. Well, I'm back! :)


I went up to Sacramento and did a lot of tours of the place- including the Capital. The Capital's architecture is beautiful and if you ever happen to be taking a tour inside, make sure to take a good long look at the inside of the dome. It is pretty impressive I must say. :)

I also stopped by San Francisco. Now this city definitely has character. :) But whenever I think of San Francisco I think of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a massive, red bridge that stretches from one side of the San Francisco Bay to the other. I took a tour that took us underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, which you can tell by the angle of the picture above. This unique place is a fun city to tour.


I traveled other places as well, but these are the two key places I thought I'd mention. :)

Like any other crafter, I brought along a crochet project to do. It's a "Tiny Ami" Kitty using the pattern from the book, Amigurumi World, by Ana Paula Rimoli. It was a lot of fun to work on and I think it turned out real cute! :) It is a gift for my Grandma. :)

Bunny #2

I finsished crocheting Bunny #2 (the one that is on the left) using the crochet pattern from the book, Amigurumi World by Ana Paula Rimoli. Remember Bunny #1 that I showed you a few days ago? Well, now she has a twin! :)

Like I said before, they're both gifts for two of my friends that are going away to college. :( Anyhoo, I hope they like them. :)

"Tiny Ami" Bunny

This is a "Tiny Ami" Bunny I crocheted using the pattern from Amigurumi World by Ana Paula Rimoli. Isn't is so cute or what? The ears is what makes me go crazy about it. :)


I'm crocheting it for a friend who's favorite animal is a bunny. I have to make another one for another friend as well. They're both gifts. :) So I finshed Bunny #1 and now I will get started on Bunny #2. :)

I had to take a picture of this bunny up close. It's too cute!!!!! :)

Jellyfish & Sombrero (done!)

The Jellyfish and Sombrero are done! Yay! I love how they both turned out. The Jellyfish is just plain adorable and the sombrero birthday card just makes me to laugh! Is this the most randomest birthday present, or what? hee hee :)

Jellyfish are such cool creatures that God created. But why did we name them Jelly- fish? What a weird name (but it's so much fun to say)!

Working Quickly...

Usually I take my time while working on a project, but right now I'm "working quickly" to get these projects done because they're for birthday present.

What I'm making is an embroidererd sombrero and crocheted jellyfish. My friend really loved my jellyfish (which I blogged about a few months ago) and wanted me to make her one. And when I went to Mexico, she wanted me to bring back a sombrero, which I wasn't really able to do that but now I know what they look like (that's for sure)!

I think I'll sew the embroidered sombrero to her birthday card...what do you think? I don't have many ideas on what to do with the sombrero so comment below if you have any suggestions. I'm all ears! :)

Simply a Gnome!

I crocheted a gnome yesterday afternoon using this free pattern, Simply a Gnome!, by the Bellas Artes blog (which you can get here). I really love how it turned out! :)

I took him around my yard and took pictures of him. Can you find him in this one? hee hee :)

The Babyshower Card and Lion

This is the card I made for the babyshower. Do you like it? The waves are made out of newspaper, scrapbook paper, and the inside of a bill envelope. I think that's probably my favorite part of this card. The verse is:

Every good and perfect gift comes from above...

I think it perfectly fits this occasion.

Well, you may think this card is cute but it made a huge mess. A mess of me deciding on what to use, triming and cutting, glueing and tying, the list can go on! :)

Almost Done!

I've been working on an amigurumi lion today. He's a gift for a babyshower tomorrow that this little lion is going to. He'll be accompanied by two baby boy outfits. I think it'll look very cute.

All that is left to add to the lion is his legs and tail. So far so good. :)

Jellyfish

Here's another pattern I did by Ana Paula. A JELLYFISH. Isn't it so cute!? :) I love it! :) She gave out this free jellyfish crochet pattern around Christmas time so people could make them and hang them up in their Christmas tree (awesome idea by Ana!). But, I found this pattern in late June so I have it pinned up on my bulletin board for now. :) When it comes around to Christmas time though, expect more of these cute little jellyfishes. :) So, if you want to make one of your own of these little fellas, click here.

A Chicken & a Chick

That's right. It's a chicken and a chick. :) These are crocheted amigurumis from the retired (and now free) pattern by Ana Paula. You can get this cute little crochet pattern here.
